SUP Züri rents out stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) and offers related activities in Zürich. By booking a rental, tour, or purchasing a gift voucher from SUP Züri, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before completing a booking or activating a voucher.
All bookings are valid for the scheduled date or a rescheduled date (if agreed in advance). Prices shown on our website are kept up to date but may vary throughout the season. If a pricing error occurs, we will contact you within 14 days to offer the choice of a cancellation or to pay the price difference
Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and are redeemable during our operating season from May to September. They can be used as full or partial payment toward any rental or activity offered at SUP Züri. Vouchers are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person.
SUP Züri (the “Company”) is not responsible for any injury, damage, or loss incurred while using our stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), related equipment, or participating in any activities. By renting a SUP or joining an activity, you (the “Renter” or “Participant”) acknowledge and accept full responsibility for all risks involved, including but not limited to:
- Personal injury.
- Loss or damage to personal belongings.
- Damage to third-party property.
Participation is at your own risk. SUP Züri assumes no responsibility for your safety during the rental period.
A minimum swimming ability is mandatory for all participants.
By booking or participating in a rental or activity, you agree to:
- Follow all instructions, safety guidelines, and rules provided by SUP Züri staff.
- Comply with local laws and waterway regulations.
- Use all equipment responsibly and return it in its original conditionFailure to comply may result in the immediate termination of your session without refund.
The Renter is responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of SUP Züri equipment during the rental period. This includes boards, paddles, life jackets, leashes, dry bags, or any accessories provided.
SUP Züri staff will inspect returned equipment and assess any damage. The Company reserves the right to determine the cost of repairs or replacement. The staff’s assessment is final and binding.
You agree to pay for any repair or replacement costs resulting from damage or loss. SUP Züri will issue an invoice and expects prompt payment.
The Renter or Participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless SUP Züri, its owners, staff, and partners from any claims, liabilities, damages, or legal actions resulting from the use or misuse of equipment or participation in any SUP Züri activities.
If equipment is returned damaged or not returned at all, the renter will be charged for the cost of repairs or replacement, as assessed by SUP Züri staff.
All renters agree to the following local SUP safety guidelines:
1. Stay Close to Shore
- Remain within 150 meters of the shoreline at all times.
2. Right of Way
- SUPs must give way to:
- Commercial boats & ferries
- Cargo ships
- Professional fishing vessels (white/yellow ball marker)
- Sailboats
- Motorboats
- Windsurfers and kitesurfers
- When meeting other SUPs, kayaks, or canoes, turn right to avoid collision.
3. Equipment & Safety
- Life jackets are included and must be worn if paddling beyond 300 meters from shore.
- A leash is recommended, especially in windy conditions.
- In case of a storm, lie on the board and paddle to safety.
4. Restricted Zones
Do not enter:
- Nature reserves
- Bathing areas
- Yellow buoy zones (typically swimming areas)
- Keep a 25-meter distance from shoreline vegetation like reeds and lilies.
-Only enter/exit at accessible areas.
5. Other Considerations
- Check the weather forecast before heading out.
- Do not paddle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Be prepared to fall in—wear suitable gear (wetsuit/drysuit in cold conditions).
All bookings are subject to availability, weather, and staffing. Book early, especially in peak season (weekends, holidays). Do not make travel or accommodation plans until you receive confirmation of your booking.
A minimum swimming ability is required for all renters. Age and health restrictions may apply; these are listed at the time of booking and in the waiver form. It is your responsibility to ensure you meet all requirements.
Participants must read, understand and agree to the safety SUP Rules Switzerland before rental. SUP Züri reserves the right to cancel or terminate any session if participants are deemed unfit or unsafe (e.g. under the influence of alcohol). Wearing a life jacket is mandatory where required. Unsafe conduct may lead to refusal of service without a refund.
You may cancel your booking for a full refund if requested at least 24 hours before your scheduled time. You may also cancel up to 1 hour before your booking in case of severe weather conditions:
- Winds over 5 BFT
- Heavy rain (Note: Light rain does not qualify as severe weather.)
No-shows or last-minute cancellations outside these conditions will not be refunded.
- Cancellations or changes must be made at least 7 days in advance.
- Cancellations within 7 days to 24 hours of the event: 50% fee.
- Cancellations less than 24 hours before the event: 100% fee.
- Rescheduling is free if requested at least 7 days before the event.
In case of unsuitable weather (wind over 5 BFT, heavy rain), we will inform you and offer a reschedule. If we do not contact you to cancel, the session is considered confirmed and will proceed as planned.
If you experience any issue, notify the SUP Züri team immediately so we can address it on-site. For unresolved issues, please contact us via email within 14 days of your activity. We will respond within 28 days.
SUP Züri is not liable for unattended personal belongings. You may bring valuables in a drybag or leave a small bag with our team during your session.
